I went to see a 30th anniversary of Polish musical “METRO”. The whole event was recorded by a television. Cameras throughout the performances were focused mainly on actors. And when the show ended, I was a part of the typical so called TV fakeness. The main director, told camera crew to rerecord our reaction to couple of songs (just to show the TV audience how much fun we had).
I’ve never witnessed something like that. But honestly, that moment deepened my bias to TV productions. Never trust what’s on TV right? I don’t know, it’s just was so unnecessary and forced in a way. I’m not a daily watcher of shows with live audience or in general TV, but so as many people of my age. The main reason why is because the ambiance of it feels so fake, and you can feel how hard they try to stay authentic.
I stopped watching TV about ten years ago (we cancelled our subscription) and it was one of my best decisions of the last decade.
