Male beauty products

I’ve read an article in The Guardian by Priya Elan, which talked about the male cosmetic products which are surrounded by false information. The male cosmetic movement hasn’t been discovered now, cause already in the 1700s man were investing in them. The approach was just different. Instead of male beauty influencers, which are setting new trends, the cosmetics were more about economics.  In my opinion, the overall message of the article is really meaningful. Putting time periods together and compering them showed the positive changes made over the centuries. Even though there is still some room for improvement I’m proud of the growth in society. I’ve never had any problem with men using beauty products or wearing makeup. I think it’s because of the social media. They winded mine and other people views and opinions. Mainly because of the huge amount of content, which talks about gender fluidity. I would even risk and say that social media were the first media to normalize and globalize

Guiding our dreams

I’ve read an article in Independent by Adam Smith, which talked about studies done at Northwestern University in the USA. Thesis was about new discovery letting scientists break into people’s dreams and leaving hidden messages. The experiments were done during lucid dreaming with 36 participants across the US, France, Germany, and the Netherlands. Personally, I found the article and mentioned scientific work fascinating. The idea of influencing our dreams seems futuristic to say at least. I agree with the author, these methods could be used to help people with sleep difficulties or nightmares. It will not only help fight insomnia problems but also other mental health issues. The method could be even healthier than melatonin pills, which could be very addictive after sometime. It was also funny to learn the way these questions manifested were different for different people. Some participants found questions coming through a radio, while others heard it like a narrator in a movie. Our br

The book industry cuts down billions of trees

I’ve read an article in Independent by Donnachadh Maccarthy, who is a British writer. He has been fighting for many years with book publishers to print books only with 100 % recycled paper. In the article, he writes about the impact of book production and also, he included many staggering numbers. For instance, the number of cut down trees globally totaled 3.4 billion in last decade.  Article became an eye-opening moment for me. I guess I have never realized how of impact simple book can have. But it’s a problem that is mistreating by most of the biggest book publishers and normal readers. I agree with Mr. Maccarthy that if one of the big publishers decided to use only recycled paper, the rest of the industry would quickly follow. Personally, I use ebook reader, but I sometimes catch myself wanting to purchase a book. It’s the feeling of turning pages that is so satisfying. The whole process of reading gets more personal and special. But now, in some extent, joy will be followed by gui

Facing the lockdown

I’ve read an article in Independent by Shappi Khorsandi called We’re all losing our minds in lockdown- let’s accept and share out frustrations, not bottle them up. The piece emphasises the importance of healthy approach to pandemic and the new struggles that come with it. I agree with a writer on many levels. Me as a teen with online school and most of my free time spent online, I’m faced with the similar problems. Under the lockdown every day feels the same and every activity turns into the routine. It’s gets pretty lonely too. In spite of having a supportive family and friends staying at home puts quite a mental strain. I’ve noticed that many times instead of dealing with my problems I pretend that there are temporary. Normally I would distract myself with busy life but now it’s harder than ever to do it. The best I can manage is finding new hobbies and talking with close ones via social media. article:https://www.independent.co.uk/voices/lockdown-pandemic-therapy-frustrations-b17983
