5,000 attend rock concert in Barcelona after Covid screening

I’ve read an article about rock concert which took place in Spain. It was the first commercial event with an audience that big held in Europe during the pandemic. There were 5000 people tested beforehand. They got a code via messages as they ticket if test was negative. Organisers had the special permission of Spanish authorities to perform. The only rule was to wear a high-quality mask.  The first time when I read the article, I felt so jealous. I’m still waiting on my concert which has been postponed too many times. So, I could imagine how people were happy and excited for the event. For the one night they could forget about sad reality. I have a feeling that good times are coming. After the 3rd wave in Poland, maybe there will be a chance to try out the Spanish method, and bring normality back for one night. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.  article: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/mar/28/5000-attend-rock-concert-in-barcelona-after-covid-19-screening

How social media affects teens health?

I’ve read an article about influence of social media among teenagers who aim to live healthy lifestyles. The post mentioned study made by two universities in England. The purpose of the research was to better understand a usage of social media by teens and their impact on them. They recruited 84 participants, aged 13-18 to do so.  The results of the study weren’t shocking for me. I agree with the part about social media being the good source of information. It’s possible to find reliable apps, creators, accounts, videos etc. Following others journey could be motivational and helpful. However, in my opinion there is a lot more negative and damaging content online. Especially if you are very young and you don’t have a filter that says what’s fake and what’s real. How the writers said: bullying, body dysmorphia formed by photoshopped posts on Instagram, fake information are the stable part of the Internet. It’s hard to be healthy mentally and physically while being online. article:htt...

The problem of diversity in film and TV industry

I’ve read an article in The Conversation which was touching on the controversial subject of lacking diversity in the film and TV industry. The article states that the main increase around this specific problem shows up around awards season. When the directors, producers and camera operators are not considered as serious nominees.  It’s worth to mention that people which are victims of the problem are those who identify as black, Asian, disabled, transgender or the over-50s. It was a bit surprising to learn about that. I’ve always thought that women were mostly oppressed by industry. As the main cause of the problem author points at people at the top- head leaders and big entertainment companies. They are viewed as traditional with already created “norm”. There is a hope, which I agree on with the author. Victims should be heard by industry and stop being portrayed as weak minority. I respect every individual no matter who they are. I stand for the rule that if we admire someb...

Coast Capture Air

I’ve read an article in the Guardian which was talking about a firm selling freshly bottled UK air for 60£ for the 500 ml. The bottles are from the Coast Capture Air company. Supposedly products are targeted for people from polluted areas around the world which are frustrated with breathing bad air. Customers inhale the fresh coastal air for mindfulness and yoga purposes.  When I first read the article, I couldn’t believe that people are paying for “empty bottles”. Making a business out of a bottled air sounds crazy. Especially when we take the prize of a single bottle plus the delivery. I know now with polluted environment and climate change people are looking for alternatives of “clean world” but still the idea is just pointless for me. In my opinion if we want to relax and escape from pollutions, we should simply go to the country site or buy anti-smog mask. atricle: https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/shortcuts/2021/mar/01/take-a-deep-breath-how-cornish-air-sell...
